AV integration

The system, tuned to the room.

Speaker levels, timing, bass integration and room correction — set up and checked by measurement.

The problem

Every room changes how a system sounds.

Without calibration, speakers can be mismatched in level and timing, subwoofers can cancel each other at the main seat, and automatic room correction can make poor decisions from limited measurements.

How we approach it

A method, not a product list.

What you receive

  • Measurements at listening positions
  • Bass integration
  • Level and delay settings
  • Room correction
  • Settings file
  1. 01

    Measure

Responses at the listening positions with a calibrated measurement microphone.

  2. 02

    Integrate the bass

Subwoofer placement, phase and crossover settings for smooth bass across the seats.

  3. 03

    Set levels and timing

Every channel matched in level and delay at the listening area.

  4. 04

    Correct where it helps

Room correction and equalisation applied selectively, not as a cure-all.

  5. 05

    Verify and document

Final measurements and a saved settings file for the system.

Questions

Common questions

Isn't the automatic setup in my AV receiver enough?

Automatic setup is a useful starting point, but it can't move speakers or subwoofers, and it relies on the measurements it is given. Manual measurement and adjustment usually get closer to what the room can achieve.

Can calibration fix a room with poor acoustics?

Only partly. Equalisation can reduce some problems, but it can't remove long reverberation or deep bass nulls. Those need acoustic treatment and good placement first.
