What a home theatre has to get right

A home theatre is a room where sound, picture and comfort meet. We start with the room itself — its dimensions, construction and neighbours — then design the acoustics, isolation and system together.

Where a project calls for it, we design to the CEDIA/CTA-RP22 recommended practice for immersive home theatre performance.

Common questions

How big does a home theatre need to be?

There's no single minimum. Room size affects seating, screen size and how bass behaves, so we work from the dimensions you have — and, where there's a choice, suggest proportions that reduce room-mode problems.

Can a home theatre be built in an existing room?

Usually, yes. How much isolation is possible depends on ceiling height and the structure, so we survey the room first and design what it can support.
