Privacy policy

What we collect through this website, why, where it is kept, for how long — and how to ask us to see, correct or delete it.

    Who we are

    Science of Sound is an acoustic design practice based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, run as a sole proprietorship by its founder, Naveen. “We” and “us” on this page mean Science of Sound.

    What we collect, and when

    Only what you choose to send us, plus basic information about how the website is used.
    • Start a project form: what you are planning, the city, the room size and project stage if you give them, whether you want a site measurement, your name, phone number, WhatsApp number, email address (optional) and anything you write about the room.
    • Work with us form (for integrators, architects and designers): your role, company, the kind of project, city, stage, the support you are looking for, your name, phone number, email address and message.
    • Equipment quote form: the products on your list, your name, phone number, email address, city and notes.
    • When you contact us directly by phone, WhatsApp or email: whatever you share in that conversation.
    • Website use: pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, how you reached the site, and whether you clicked a phone, WhatsApp or email link or completed a form — through Google Analytics (see below). These records do not include your name, number or email.
    Each form also records which page it was sent from, so we know what you were reading.

    Why we use it

    To reply to your enquiry, ask the questions we need about the room, and — if you go ahead — to prepare the design, drawings, quotation and project work.
    To understand which pages are useful and whether enquiries are getting through, so we can improve the site.
    We do not sell your information, add you to mailing lists or send newsletters. We do not use it for anything unrelated to your enquiry or project.

    Where it is kept, and who processes it

    We use a small number of service providers to run the website. They process your information on our behalf, only to provide their service:
    • Sanity — our content platform, where each form enquiry is stored as a record that only we can open.
    • Resend — sends each form enquiry to us as an email, from enquiries@scienceofsound.in.
    • Google — our email inbox (Gmail), where those enquiry emails arrive, and Google Analytics.
    • Netlify — hosts the website; like any web host, its servers log technical details of each visit, such as IP address and browser, for security and operation.
    Some of these providers store or process data outside India. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s own privacy policy also applies to that conversation.

    Cookies and browser storage

    Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. We use the results only as totals — which pages are read, which buttons are used.
    If you build an equipment quote list, it is kept in your own browser (local storage) until you send it or clear it. It does not reach us until you submit the quote form.
    You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. The site, including the forms, works without them.

    How long we keep it

    Enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last contact with you, unless they become a project. Then we keep the project records for as long as the project needs them and as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records.
    Google Analytics keeps its usage records for the retention period set in our Analytics account, after which Google deletes them.

    Your rights

    Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us:
    • for a summary of the personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
    • to correct, complete or update it;
    • to delete it, or to stop using it, where we no longer need it for your project or a legal obligation;
    • to withdraw a consent you have given;
    • to nominate someone to act for you if you are unable to.
    Send the request to scienceofsoundhyd@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm it is you before we act on it. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

    Keeping it safe

    Enquiry records and emails are kept in password-protected accounts that only Science of Sound can open, and the website runs over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, but we take reasonable care and keep only what we need.
  9. 09

    Children

    This website is for adults planning or working on building projects. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, write to us and we will delete them.
  10. 10

    Changes to this policy

    If the way the website handles information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions about it go to scienceofsoundhyd@gmail.com. See also our terms of use.
